Impact Communications, Inc. is seeking a Fundraising/Marketing Writer.

The Fundraising Writer is a vital role in our small but mighty fundraising communications consulting firm. They understand that in fundraising and maketing, great copy is all about getting a response. So, they meet people where they are, which often means telling a brief but powerful story that helps them understand and see how they could be a part of change. The ideal candidate is a quick and enthusiastic learner, team player, adaptable to changing situations and will participate actively in our quality-oriented, creative company culture.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:
- Participate in creative kickoff meeting and other discovery meetings, as needed
- Tell powerful stories through writing fundraising emails, major giving and direct response fundraising campaigns, case statements, legacy and gift planning materials.
- Thoroughly review all background materials and seek input from Client Managers in preparation for writing assignments
- Shepherd copy through Impact’s internal review process and the client’s review process in a timely manner
- Be in regular communication with Client Managers to review client timelines, revisions, new developments, etc.
- Be available to assist other team writers with fundraising copy or help edit other writers’ work
- Make timely edits and changes to copy per client’s feedback
- Contribute to daily operations to help keep our small office running smoothly
- Attend marketing meetings, networking events and assist with marketing proposals as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, retreats and other company functions
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in fundraising or marketing
- Minimum 3 – 4 years fundraising or marketing writing experience (agency or non-profit experience preferred)
- Detail oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Passionate about social causes
- Excellent written and verbal communicator and able to collaborate within a creative and passionate team
- Computer savvy; Mac preferred (Up-to-date skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; general familiarity with databases)
- Quick thinker who likes to solve problems

Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
