This year, as so many people around the world face challenges, Impact is honored to continue our tradition of making #GivingTuesday donations in honor of our hardworking staff. Each Impact team member has chosen a nonprofit organization to receive their #GivingTuesday donation, making this effort even more meaningful.

Elizabeth – Following the election, it is crucial to protect access to reproductive healthcare for all people. That’s why this #GivingTuesday, I’m choosing to donate to Planned Parenthood. They have led the way in fighting to protect, restore, and expand abortion access and reproductive healthcare, despite continuing and escalating threats and increased restrictions.

Heather – This year, I chose Beloved Asheville to support Giving Tuesday. Words cannot describe the heartbreaking photos and stories of families lost and grieving, as well as those without shelter, food, water, and transportation in communities along the path of Hurricane Helene this past September. Our amazing graphic designer, Andy Farkas, calls Asheville, North Carolina, home with his family. And this year, as he and his family start to rebuild their home and lives, I want him to know that our hearts here at Impact are beside them.

Kathy – For this year’s #GivingTuesday, I am making my gift to Community Forklift. This year, their “re-use” mission kept more than 185,000 home goods and construction supplies out of landfills; donated $200,000 in materials to neighbors in need and community partners; and provided good, green jobs and workforce training to 36 people. I’m thankful for this outstanding organization and all they do to foster a healthier environment and stronger communities.

Lindsay – On Giving Tuesday this year, I am supporting ACT for Alexandria, a community foundation in Alexandria, Va. ACT uses a centralized giving model, so donations are given to ACT and then distributed to local organizations in the city. Right now, ACT’s active funds support racial equity and capacity building, economic mobility, housing equity, and youth programming. By pooling resources together to distribute, ACT is a cornerstone of support for the city of Alexandria.

Mary – This year, for #GivingTuesday, I am choosing Women for Women. As someone who truly believes that women are the backbone of every community, I am grateful for the work that Women for Women is doing to help women survivors of war and conflict realize their power. WFWI doesn’t cosplay as the saviors of these women, they provide women with the necessary resources to be their own heroes.

Gosia – This Year for Giving Tuesday, I am donating to the Reproductive Freedom for All Foundation because I care about access to reproductive healthcare, especially in light of the election results. The political climate makes me worry about the restriction of these essential rights, and I want to ensure that everyone can make personal decisions about their health and their futures. Supporting this foundation feels very meaningful during this very uncertain time.
